Who Are Loves Football?
We’re a community of coaches and parents who share the same values and believe there HAS to be another solution to traditional aggressive football coaching.
Our head coaches are qualified, experienced and have worked in some of the best coaching groups in the Midlands.

Why We Do It
My eldest son – Aidan – had a terrible experience of grassroots football.
Aggressive coaches, bullying from teammates, parents swearing and arguing with referees… constantly.
To make matters worse, his brother was flying!
Top scorer every season, played with his friends, won lots of medals and trophies, played for the Birmingham District and had been scouted by AVFC.
It was very difficult to take and Aidan was a hair’s breadth from walking away from football for good.
But he LOVED playing football!
Clearly, the environment was wrong for him…
And so the lightbulb moment!
“There must be the loads of kids like Aidan who are sick of grassroots football”
So I set up Loves Football to create an environment for kids of all abilities to enjoy football.
What about Aidan?
I twisted his arm to keep going of course!
We set up a new team with Kings Heath Sports FC and Aidan pretty much happily ‘completed’ grassroots from U14-U17s
He has just finished playing football for Solihull Moors U18s :)

What We Do
We provide environments which prioritise fun, confidence-building, structured development and put your child at the centre of sessions.

Well, yes and no!
The sessions are designed to be enjoyable but there is a bit more science behind it 😉
We recruit professional coaches and follow a structured training plan designed by a Premier League Academy Coach.
We have your child’s entire grassroots journey mapped out – that is every week from 4-16 years old.
An amazing track record
Interestingly, we’ve had a similar number of kids join professional academies as football groups whose primary goal is to push kids to elite level…
(…the key difference is we don’t break kids in the process!)
But the number we are most proud of….
…since we started, we have helped over 600 children join grassroots football teams!
150 of those are via a pathway into Kings Heath Sports FC where we have created 10 teams.
