They just want their children to have fun, be happy and healthy, make friends and develop their football skills along the way.
We think there is too much pressure at grassroots level, and it’s a crying shame that so many kids turn away from football because of it.
So we’re trying to put that right 🙂

Founder
Favourite team & player – Manchester United & King Eric Cantona.
Don’t be fooled – There is a very happy 6 year old boy behind that grumpy old man’s face
Bio – FA Qualified coach and experienced grassroots Football Manager. Passionate about football being used to improve kids’ confidence and develop friendship groups. Dad to 2 football-daft boys, obsessed with travelling, and slightly too in love with his VW campervan – just don’t ask him about ‘her’…
Sasha
Senior Coach
Favourite team & player – Birmingham City/Arsenal & Thierry Henry.
Don’t be fooled – Behind that all that goofing around, there is a top notch FA football coach with over 10 years’ experience
Bio – The Kids LOVE Sasha. Maybe because he has a similar mental age to them. Football through and through, having played competitively since he was 5 years old. He’s a Trainee Teacher by day, and in his spare time he’s listening to/making music, catching up on the NFL or helping his dear old Mum with her business!
Adam
Welfare Officer
Favourite team & player – Aston Villa & Cristiano Ronaldo.
Don’t be fooled – Adam is vastly experienced at grassroots level!
Bio – By day he is Postman Pat, and by weekend he’s the Chairman of his own grassroots football club (which he set up from scratch), Welfare Officer for Loves Football, and manager of a cracking U11s grassroots team. FA level 2 qualified, father to a football-mad boy and all-round good egg
Ronnie
Trainee Coach
Favourite team & player – Birmingham City & Thiago Alcantara.
Don’t be fooled – He’s a born leader. Captained Kings Heath Sports FC for years despite being the youngest lad on the team.
Bio – Don’t tell him, but he’s a brilliant footballer, even with those massive feet! Currently bossing the midfield for Bournville FC after an emotional transfer from Kings Heath Sports where he left his childhood friends behind… #awkward. Undeniable fans-favourite amongst the 6 year old group
Sean
Trainee Coach
Favourite team & player – Birmingham City & Ngolo Kante.
Don’t be fooled – There is a wannabe kickboxer behind that baby face!
Bio – If he’s not in his usual Ps4/Netflix & chill habitat, Sean is either studying Sports BTEC 3 Diploma at Solihull College, playing football for Kings Heath Sports, Gaelic Football for Galway, or getting chased around the kickboxing octagon.
Noah
Trainee Coah
Favourite team & player – Liverpool & Steven Gerrard.
Don’t be fooled – Noah is a super-bright science student on his way to becoming a Doctor.
Bio – Noah is passionate about helping more kids develop and enjoy football. He’s a big cricket and rugby fan and another lad off the Kings Heath Sports production line. Noah is the newest member of our team, so we’re looking forward to seeing him in action!

I decide to leave corporate life behind
LovesFootball is born
We start in a very wet and windy Kings Heath Park with 15 kids
Starting an 'after-school' football group at the start of the summer holidays might not have been the wisest move
🚐 Football trip for 2 weeks - might have been better to get the holiday out of the way BEFORE starting a football coaching club 🙄
Launch 'Futsal Fridays' for 8-11yrs
Launch 5-a-side League' for 10-15yrs
Our first LovesFootball birthday for Joey!
❤️ All groups at 95%+ capacity
💯 All groups full...with waiting lists!
🎅 Two-week Christmas break
⚽️ 2x summer camp locations confirmed
⚽️ New classes in Kings Heath, Moseley and Harborne booked-up!

COVID hits the UK, and the FA suspend all grassroots football
Lockdown
Heading to The Wellington and waiting for this all to blow over isn't an option
Grab a selfie stick and a microphone, and spend three hours in the park learning how to film-coach-social distance at the same time
Launch Home Football Coaching on Facebook - 450 members in the first 24 hours and 879 in the first two days!
Spend 2 days trying to learn to video edit. Fail badly, and miss the deadline for the first session
Home Football Coaching hits 1400 members on Facebook, and over 100 subscribers on YouTube
Home-schooling like a boss! Lessons planned, boundaries-drawn, Dad in-control
Swap home-schooling for Twinkl
Swap Twinkl for YouTube and Nintendo
Complete 30 days of football coaching 🙂
